Who would have expected (definitely not me) that this movie turned out to be a sorta clinical psychology related movie wherein a boy who feels clinically "depressed" (as he claims to be) despite the fact that he got accepted to this school who only the brightest students get accepted. "I got in" as he would repeatedly tell himself. Ironically he's not happy or some sort, but rather, for lack of a better term... Confused. If he would make a yearbook writeup of himself, he'd have no credentials. Well thats what he would think of himself.
To cut things short, so this boy calls the "suicidal hotline" and claims himself suicidal. Or rather claims that he "thinks" about it, but not really act upon it.
his Friends would say... "just chill, you gotta learn how to chill" (omg now why does that advice sound soooo familiar? LOL)
So anyway, why am I making this post. I just find the movie so cool when psychiatrists, psychologists and other doctors try to "assess" him. And then there would be group counseling, art therapy, music therapy interviews etc and the "facilitator" was just so awesome. Maybe I'm exaggerating and I'm just overwhelmed.
Working at that hospital and becoming one of those facilitators just sound like a really cool job. Unfortunately I don't think I'd end up leaning toward that career path for the fact that I might just end up suggesting that I should be the patient than the other way around. Lol. But hey, I think I have gained improvements during my "gap" year of doing no work nor school, just traveling and meeting all sorts of people.
Anyway, where am I getting at? I just remembered all of my college friends and teachers :)
And I wanted to share this awesome movie, where I can totally relate! Whether undergoing self-proclaimed "depression" or understanding psychological terms and psychologists behavior. And most importantly how people would "think" of you when they find out you're seeing a therapist.
Wish I could go back to undergrad and make pretend therapies that we used to treat like just as playing games in class. No, I don't think graduate school would be a nice suggestion since ive already decided before, that the "teaching" field would be better suitable for my "personality". Don't try to confuse me now with career changes. Lol.
Besides, it wouldnt be the same if I didn't have my "team". I wouldnt trade the people I was with in college for any other. It was the second best years of my life (highschool being the first. Haha) anyway I'm saying that graduate school is different because my old classmates won't be there.
Okay so I suck at doing movie reviews because I barely talked about the movie.
I just want you guys to watch it for yourselves and you'll know what I'm talking about...
